Information is paramount in any investment decision, the purchase of a home, ranch or vacation property is no different.  Market trends, community absorption rates and average sales prices are but a few insights that we aim to deliver to our clientele.  But as important as these aspects of a purchase may be, we also recognize the importance of what professionals provide value added services, where you can take your kids to see mountain wildflowers or what the trout have been rising to on the local rivers.

The interaction that we hope you will have with our team extends beyond the transaction and into the lifestyle, experiencing this place with you.  Check back on a frequent basis to find information on Montana homes for sale, market data, architects, builders and project managers or just to see where to get a great dessert or that first cup of morning coffee.  Feel free to comment or post questions and we will do our best to give you a glimpse into “Life Wide Open”.

Centre Sky Architecture, Ltd. is a professional design firm with a wide range of experience in all types of architecture. The firm believes in a commitment to the highest quality solution for their clients, unique tailored design, and a heavy emphasis on ecological integration. Centre Sky has clients throughout the US and internationally. Their work sweeps from the mesas of Southwestern Colorado to the peaks and valleys of the Northern Rocky Mountains. They hold licenses in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah and specialize in custom residential, vacation homes, resort architecture, master planning, commercial buildings, and historic restoration.
Quality work is their first priority. When selecting materials, they plan for the future, researching new materials and techniques, while also respecting age-old building practices. Quality materials and quality construction result in a building that stands this test of time.

Sustainable Design Philosophy
Centre Sky Architecture approaches sustainability in architecture as a critical part of their design process and research approach. Jamie Daugaard, Principal of Centre Sky Architecture, is a LEED Accredited Professional and provides knowledge and impetus to clients that may be considering applying sustainable technologies to their project. Daugaard says, “The process of sustainable design starts by outlining goals in the beginning of a project and then continually revisiting them through the design process. We do this to determine if the original goals are still valid and to see if we are migrating toward something further”.
Project specific goals can be as simple as a more energy-efficient kitchen, or an implemented heating system that can cut down on utility costs by 30% or more. They can also be more robust, for example a platinum level LEED certified project, or an "off the grid" facility that requires zero fossil fuels to function.  “Once the goals are established, we go through systems, construction techniques, orientation, costing, tax benefits and materials to define possibilities to the client” says Daugaard, “as the design progresses so do the "sustainable practices" that are engrained into the design. These practices are priced, modeled, tested, and ultimately approved and incorporated into our projects”.
Origins
“Centre Sky” is a term that originates from a respect of Native American beliefs. Many native cultures believe their people traveled from the underworld and came to be in the world we know today. Once they reached this world, the traveled to all points of the compass and found the middle place, or the “Center”. The path created while returning to the surface connected the earth and sky.
Daugaard attended Montana State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. While attending MSU, he became involved in the theoretical aspects of Native American architecture. The intent of the theoretical basis was to devise a method, and approach design, in a manner in which site and structure become one.
