Bozeman

Recently named the best small town in America by bizjournals.com, Bozeman, Montana sits in the Gallatin Valley at 4,795 feet surrounded by the Bridger, Gallatin and Tobacco Root Mountains. Big Sky covers two of the western peaks – Lone Mountain, elevation 11,186 feet, and Andesite Mountain, 8,800 feet. Also on Lone Mountain are Moonlight Basin’s runs, connecting them with those of Big Sky to form the largest skiable area in the country. The town is home to Montana State University, Museum of the Rockies, and an eclectic community of ranchers, artists, professors, ski enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs.

Downtown consists of rows of turn-of-the-century buildings backgrounded by majestic peaks and steep canyons, a starting point for connections to the Gallatin Canyon and Yellowstone National Park. Hiking trails snake through the foothills and canyons in every direction, while the nearby Gallatin, Yellowstone, and Madison rivers are teeming with trout.
